RECA continues in 2024 to support the Alliance for Childhood Vaccination.

Giving opportunities to the people who need it most is the reason for being of the ”la Caixa” Foundation. Therefore, for more than 15 years, we have promoted the Alliance for Childhood Vaccination in close collaboration with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the first public-private partnership in the world whose mission focuses on protecting the health of the population by increasing access. to vaccines in the poorest countries.

The Alliance for Childhood Vaccination also has the participation of ISGlobal (Barcelona Institute for Global Health), which joined the project in 2014 as a scientific and academic partner.

To date, we have helped vaccinate more than 10 million children in 10 countries, giving them the opportunity to have a future. And this has been possible thanks to the thousands of companies that, like yours, participate in this project as part of their corporate social responsibility.

These 10 million vaccinated children represent a hopeful figure that we aim to significantly exceed in 2024. To achieve this, the ”la Caixa” Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation remain committed to multiplying the donations received by four.

Once again, we will allocate the full amount of funds to the distribution of the pneumonia vaccine in Mozambique and Ethiopia to help prevent what, even today, continues to be the leading global cause of child mortality.
